Versions 1.165.7 through 1.167.3 preserve the complete history of a campaign, add annual formative stories for educated children, rebuild the Estates forecast, and expand family succession, work, serf survival, and ruler tools.
Complete Chronicle archives
The Chronicle now keeps the complete record of a family instead of only the recent in-game window.
- Every generation: The archive records each head of the house with their years, title, and closing line.
- Complete timeline: Family changes, choices, ranks, wars, property, faith, travel, and politics remain available throughout a long campaign.
- Search and filters: Browse by text, category, generation, or chronological order.
- Portable history: Open a Chronicle from the title screen, inspect saved games without resuming them, or download the history as JSON.
Family succession now reaches the full recorded family tree, including distant cousins and their descendants. Permanent property survives succession, so a house can continue through a collateral branch without losing the land and enterprises it built.
Formative childhood education
Education now creates household stories rather than only adding yearly skill progress.
Each child who completes a directed education term receives one formative story during the following year. Siblings' stories are spaced across the calendar. Diplomacy, Martial, Stewardship, Intrigue, and Learning studies lead to different situations, while broader school experiences can test honesty, ambition, restraint, kindness, or confidence.
The first two responses offer stronger skill chances and may add a related trait, but failure can cost skill. A safer third response offers a smaller chance to improve without a penalty. Children old enough for an apprenticeship can also staff matching family enterprises, with two child workers contributing the labor of one adult.
Clearer Estates forecasts
The Estates now show their chamber composition as a responsive hemicycle.
Every seat is grouped by political bloc and weighted by influence. The summary shows the total influence in the chamber, the amount needed to carry a vote, and each bloc's current position. Ruler age and territorial economic interests now feed those alignments, making the forecast a clearer explanation of how a motion is likely to fare before it is proposed.
Other changes
- Serf survival: Several events that could lift a Serf out of bondage are now much rarer, and freedom charters cost substantially more. Earning manumission should be a fair bit more difficult. Desperate Measures replaces simple poaching with escalating illicit choices. Toil and Harvest earnings now follow local provisions prices and fall when armies, battles, sieges, or occupation disrupt the home county.
- Station and work: Station & Home focuses on the current home, local authority, and actionable routes to freedom. The Self panel's work summary opens Work & Enterprises directly.
- Ruler tools: Technology research can be switched, direct vassals can receive eligible counties within their de jure duchies, and custom starts can select exact counties and visible settlements from Find Location.
- Time and events: Events resume play after their final choice. Wartime hosts recover their automated stance after manual movement, and compact controls avoid covering Estates content.
- Family and finance: Family land and more valuable property can secure pledged loans. Pestilence mortality follows each relative's residence, and family rosters update during play.
- Community and sharing: The in-game menu links to the Fallowborn Discord and itch.io rating page. Completed campaigns can copy a shareable saga summary.
- Interface and saves: Mobile Chronicle filters collapse when space is limited, Chronicle downloads stay with the history, and save repair covers complete archives and broader family succession.
