v1.143: Unit classes, multi-host warfare, and conversion deeds

August 19, 2026

Versions 1.140.2 through 1.143.1 introduce data-driven unit classes with tactical counter systems, multi-host army splitting and supply logistics, deliberate faith and culture conversion deeds, expanded career life paths, royal policies, and live map layer filters.

Unit classes and multi-host warfare

Field armies now track detailed unit class composition across ten historical soldier types. Baseline levies, archers, cavalry, and men-at-arms are joined by specialist and cultural troops:

The Land panel displays field host composition, supply condition, and split or merge commands.

Realms can now field multiple concurrent hosts:

Faith and culture conversion deeds

Characters can now enact deliberate religious and cultural conversion deeds from the Deeds tab:

The Convert Faith modal presents scope options, theological affinity badges, and doctrine tooltips for prospective religions
The Convert Faith modal details conversion scopes, piety costs, and doctrine tooltips.

Career life paths and masterworks

Unlanded characters now encounter career-defining life path events with durable accomplishments:

Royal policies and live map filters

Crowned kings and emperors can now proclaim standing royal policies directly from the Crown tab without parliamentary votes, regulating religious tolerance and newcomer settlement rights across the realm.

Players can now press R (or click the map filter icon) to cycle map layer filters between Realm borders, personal demesne holdings, liege territory, de jure duchies, de jure kingdoms, and active war theaters.
